SoundOrbit.com Hits the Airwaves.

Alisa Mikeal, award winning poet and songwriter, creates SoundOrbit.com, a new web community that puts artists, booking agents and A&R representatives all together in a single place.

[USPRwire, Tue Jan 10 2006] Aspiring musicians all over the world got a big boost today with the launching of SoundOrbit.com, a brand new multimedia website dedicated to helping artists get heard. With a membership made up of label execs and venue booking agents, as well as musicians, SoundOrbit.com connects all music industry players in one community.

“Sites like MySpace are great ways for musicians to find fans, says SoundOrbit founder and Promotional Director, Alisa Mikeal. “SoundOrbit is about taking care of business.

Mikeal, award winning poet, and member of the Songwriters Association of Canada and The National Academy of Pop, developed SoundOrbit with the needs of the industry, as well as artists, in mind. Through a series of strategic associations, SoundOrbit offers benefits like free streaming internet radio of member artists and live performance video feeds, giving A&R reps and booking agents access to new music from all over the world without ever leaving their offices.

“We’ve found that even when a visitor clicks away from SoundOrbit, they will usually leave the radio playing, says SoundOrbit Radio Director Paul Hadley. “Even if they’re not reading SoundOrbit, they can still hear what’s new in the music world. We know our radio program will deliver.

SoundOrbit will also feature regular columns, news and reviews, and guest features by pros from all over the industry. Road Show, an hour-long radio program created by Alisa Mikeal and Brad Andrews, will detail life on the road from the people who are living it. Guest participants include Phil X of Powder, veteran of tours with Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper; and Canada’s own Randy Cooke, who has played with Alanis Morrisette and Hilary Duff (on her single “Why Not). Future shows may even include an hour-long thrashing from Tommy Lee himself.
