Lanyardstore.com plans a One Million Lanyard Giveaway to Schools, Churches and other Non-Profit Organizations
[USPRwire, Mon Aug 17 2009] Over the next year, Lanyardstore.com plans to give away one million lanyards, including ID-holder neck lanyards to youth camps, ministries, public schools and other community-based non-profit organizations.
Lanyardstore sold over 8 million printed lanyards in the last year. However, up to 10% of each run gets wasted due to misprints and overruns, and they are overwhelmed by excess lanyards.
A lanyard is a hanging neck strap with attachments to hold various things. Lanyardstore also deals in a variety of other promotional products such as schools supplies, key holders and neck wallets. “Because of their usefulness at events, fundraisers and other functions, lanyards are one of the most productive donations for charities,” says co-owner David Lee.
Lee began importing lanyards and screen printing them in his garage, to help bring business to the Chinese lanyard factory his father-in-law had just bought. Soon, he began to receive large orders from trade shows, school lanyards, and conventions. These increased orders for neck lanyards, custom lanyards, printed lanyards, cheap lanyards, retractable reel blank and cell phone lanyards made him expand into a warehouse to print lanyards. He now has 25 employees and has diversified into custom printed retractable badge reels, printed neck wallets, custom badge holders and even custom shoelaces.
Lanyardstore started selling inexpensive lanyards to retail customers online in 1999, and shortly thereafter set up www.lanyardstore.com for selling custom lanyards and other custom printed ID products.
Lee says that no company should throw away good products when there are people who can benefit from them. This is what inspired this lanyard donation program aimed at using excess lanyards for the benefit of worthy causes. This involves donating one million lanyards over 18 months.
The company is now making donations of printed lanyards to charities, schools and churches. Lee hopes that the good rapport will bring in more business, on top of it being good in these hard times. “Over this winter, we will also be donating 100,000 custom pet collars and dog collars to animal shelters.”
