[USPRwire, Tue Jul 24 2007] Although Vesmont, LC’s business focus is developing residential and mixed-use communities that serve Atlanta’s discerning homeowners and diverse lifestyles, Lawrence Kasmen, a Principal of the company, also realizes the importance of helping those in need and contributing to the community. When Kasmen’s close personal friend, Ira Wilkins, teamed up with the Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) four years ago to host a fundraiser for GTF, The Many Lives You’ve Touched, Kasmen gladly offered his support - and this year is no exception.

For the past four years, Wilkins, a kidney and pancreas transplant recipient, has hosted The Many Lives You’ve Touched event to honor his donor family, the Lovells. In 1996, Wilkins’s life was saved due to the Lovell’s decision to donate their late daughter Erica’s organs. The Many Lives You’ve Touched raises money and awareness for GTF, helping Georgia residents impacted by the need for an organ transplant.

This year’s event will take place on September 20 at Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant in Buckhead from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This special night will be filled with live music, cocktails, great food and auctions. Lively music will be provided by the world’s most authentic and entertaining Beatles tribute band, The Return.

Since its inception, this benefit has raised more than $220,000 for GTF because of the generosity of its supporters. The cost to attend the event is $75. Funds received are used to help those eagerly awaiting an organ transplant. GTF also assists recipients through its return-to-work program, JumpStart, and other programs which provide emotional, educational and financial support and advocacy to organ transplant candidates, recipients, living donors and their family members.

Kasmen has been involved in The Many Lives You’ve Touched benefit dinner since its inception as a sponsor and member of the host committee, working to solicit corporate and individual sponsors, sell tickets and generate publicity for the event.

“My friend is alive and better than ever because of the generosity of others,” said Kasmen. “Even if you are unable to attend the event, I strongly encourage individuals and companies to recognize the Lovell’s generosity by contributing to this worthy cause.”
