Sherrard Grauer Displays Grace and Beauty in Beyond Borders
AGORA GALLERY PRESENTS BEYOND BORDERS
[USPRwire, Sun Sep 26 2010] Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature west-coast artist, Sherrard Grauer, in Beyond Borders. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 05, 2010 through October 26, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, October 07, 2010).
Sherrard Grauer's diversity of style comes out of her unique approach to her subject matter. Whether detailing the motions of fish or creating the painterly strokes of an expressionist bank of clouds, she displays a passionate openness to experience, a passion which could not be restricted to one particular style or medium. What all her works have in common for the viewer is the drama communicated through stunning sensory forms. Sherrard's subject, more often than not, is the mystery and power of nature as it exists both within and without. By looking inward, she is both examining her responses to the outer world and recording the world of psychological forces within. She has said she does not believe in wholly abstract painting, that every work of art one creates has a reference.
Sherrard Grauer taps into universal, elemental forces and brings them to the canvas with a grace, beauty and power that is deeply visionary.
