Japanís GDP shrank by an annualised 7.1% between April and June, compared with the previous three month period. GDP shrank at a faster pace than over January-March 2011, when the country was devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Private consumption also dropped by 5.1% compared with the previous quarter.
