GREAT LAKES EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SERVICES OFFERS FREE HEALTH BENEFIT REPORTS TO SURVEY PARTICIPANTS

Great Lakes Employee Benefits Services, Inc. (GLEBS), an independently owned and operated health insurance benefits consulting firm, is co-sponsoring the Annual Michigan Mid Market Health Survey with national actuary company Milliman, Inc., the company’s premier actuarial consulting firm. GLEBS is offering Individual Custom Reports (ICRs) to Mid Market Michigan companies who complete the survey by May 28, 2010.
In exchange for participation, companies will receive complementary Local, Regional and National-level Health Benchmarking reports, valued between $3,000-$5,000. Information provided in the reports can help businesses determine cost-effective redesigns for employee plans in many areas, including deductibles, office visits, prescription drug co-pays, vacation days, leaves of absence and employee wellness initiatives.
The Milliman Health Survey is used by more than 4,800 companies to control benefit costs by providing businesses the ability to compare the competitiveness of an employee benefit plan and cost directly with other Michigan Mid Market companies.
“We are in tough economic times and employers are under increasing pressure from executive management to maintain or reduce operational costs,” said GLEBS Principal Joe Coan, “At the same time the cost of health benefits continues to increase annually. This report will give companies a great base to compare their plan to others in the market.”
Companies wishing to take advantage of the ICR offer can find the survey link on the GLEBS Web site: www.glebs.com. The survey consists of 35 questions and is estimated to take 30 minutes to one hour to complete. Prior to completing the survey, participants should have information on all health and welfare plan designs, the plans’ monthly premiums or budgeted rates, monthly employee contribution dollar amounts and total enrollment, as well as other benefits the company offers, such as vacation time, voluntary benefits or third party disease management.
The survey will be taking responses until 5 p.m. Eastern on May 28, 2010. GLEBS is planning a post-survey Webinar to review results and distribute ICRs to participants. Anyone needing more information about the survey can go online to www.glebs.com or call Laurie Collie at GLEBS, 248-641-000 ext. 205.
