Ad Club Announces July 30th Deadline for Applications for Annual Public Service Campaign Considerati

The Ad Club of the Triangle, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, announces that they are accepting applications for consideration for the 2007-2008 Public Service Advertising (PSA) Campaign. Each year, the Ad Club partners with one of the area's universities to develop and implement a public service advertising campaign. The beneficiary will be a non-profit organization based in the Greater Raleigh-Durham area that has a need for assistance in publicizing and marketing its mission, resources, and cause to the community.

Interested organizations may submit their application online at, or may send an email to to request an application. An application is accepted as complete with the following:

1. Fully completed answers to the provided questions.
2. Please type or print in black ink, answering each question as concisely as possible, using "not applicable" when necessary.
3. Copy of the organization's IRS 501c(3) tax exemption determination letter.
4. Descriptive brochure, if available.
5. Submittal by 5:00 p.m. on July 30, 2007 to:

The selection process will engage a committee that will interview the finalists. Organizations selected for an interview will be notified by August 14, 2007 and final notification to the chosen organization will be completed by August 27, 2007.

The campaign may include the creation of emerging and new media ads, print ads, television ads, radio ads, press releases and news stories as well as collateral materials and signage for the organization. Specific details of the project will be determined based on an evaluation of the chosen organization's needs. The PSA planning process will begin in September 2007 and will be launched in January 2008.

The club acts as the local "Unifying Voice for Advertising"; providing Raleigh-Durham area advertising executives and students, access to the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and its resources. The Ad Club of the Triangle is governed by the by-laws set forth by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and one of several clubs in the Third District that participates at the national level of the AAF. About the PSA Campaign
The Ad Club has helped several non-profits throughout the years. The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle was last year's beneficiary; receiving major media contributions and donations; many still being run to-date. Radio, TV, billboards, print, online, digital signage, and mobile billboards are some of the media types that are used for the campaign. Students from the participating college will work closely with the Ad Club's advertising and creative professionals to develop an effective campaign matching the needs of the beneficiary. Helping an organization that may not ever have a budget for such advertising, while allowing senior students to gain real world experience and interact with local advertising professionals as they prepare to graduate and seek employment.
