[USPRwire, Sat Nov 18 2006] Eileen Borgeson’s “Muse of Flight” has now honored individuals and organizations, both private and governmental, in three notable 2006 events within the Space Travel and Exploration Industries: the May International Space Development Conference (ISDC2006) in Los Angeles, the October Wirefly X Prize Cup, in New Mexico and the November “Japan and United States Technology Space Applications Program (JUSTSAP)” Symposium, in Hawaii. Eileen’s ‘Muse of Flight’ sculpture and image could be destined to become the ‘Oscar’ for the Space Travel and Exploration Industries.
It’s happened before… Eileen’s Promax Gold ‘Muse of Creativity’ sculpture is now considered by many to be the ‘Oscar’ of the Television and Electronics Promotions Industry. Over 10,000 television and electronic media executives and networks have been honored with them over the last decade. Each year, over one thousand of her ‘Muse of Creativity’ sculptures are awarded during eight world-wide recognition ceremonies
The ‘Muse of Flight’ was the featured sculpture on the 4 sculpture assemblage comprising the “Dennis Tito” award. Thus far, Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth and Gregory Olsen have received one. The three ‘Dennis Tito’ awards were presented at the ISDC2006 Conference and Orbit Awards Dinner. The Orbit Awards dinner was hosted by the Space Tourism Society and the National Space Society. SaxtonIndustrial.com sponsored the awards.
At the Wirefire X Prize Cup, Anousheh was surprised with the inaugural ‘E Art Space Ambassador’ Award. In on the surprise were: the X Prize Foundation, Alan Hale, the presenter and co-discoverer of the Hale-Bobb Comet, and Anousheh’s family and staff. The ‘E Art Space Ambassador’ Award featured the ‘Muse of Flight’ sculpture ‘floating’ in Optical Crystal (done through laser technology). The award was sponsored by E Art Gallery, SignatureEArt.com and SaxtonIndustrial.com.
Anousheh Ansari is now eligible to receive the ‘Dennis Tito’ award for being the fourth, and the first female, ‘private space traveler’. This would make Anousheh the recipient of three of Eileen’s Space Art awards. Anousheh and her family were also honored for their title sponsorship of the Ansari X Prize at the ISDC2006 Orbit Awards dinner with Eileen’ and Jeff Allen’s, holographic faceted clear and black crystal ‘Orbit Award’, which was received by her bother-in-law, Amir Ansari. The other recipients included: Burt Rutan, Buzz Aldrin, Richard Branson, Astronaut Rick Searfoss, Robert Bigelow, Paul Allen, Peter Diamandis, X Prize Foundation, Zero Gravity, Scaled Composites, Eric Anderson, Leonard David, Henry Vanderbilt, Tsuyoshi Sadtome and Peter Wainwright. The ‘Orbit Awards’ were sponsored by InteriorSystems.com.
The “Muse of Flight”, in sculpture form alone, was christened as the ‘EArt Space Exploration Award’ on Monday, November 13, when Eileen Borgeson and Jeff Allen presented the award to JUSTSAP (Japan United States Technology and Science Applications Program) at their 16th year Symposium held on the Big Island in Hawaii. The award honored the entire organization for their efforts, contributions and collaborations in space exploration. The Award was sponsored by E Art Gallery, Hawaii Island Economic Development Board (HIEDB) and SaxtonIndustrial.com.
The ‘EArt Space Exploration’ award was presented during the Opening Ceremonies after the Keynote Address by astronaut/Lt. Col. Michael Clifford. Announced by Jim Crisafulli, Exec. Director of JUSTSAP and Director of Hawaii Office of Aerospace Development, and introduced by Mark McGuffie, director of HIEDB, Eileen and Allen presented the award sculpture. Accepting were: Stephen Day, Chairman of JUSTSAP, The Honorable Shiegeo Iwatani, Consul General of Japan in Honolulu, Dr. Takashi Iida, Dr. Frank Schowengerdt, Takaji Kuroda, Ted Liu, Director Dept. of Business, Economic Development & Tourism/State of Hawaii and the former Governor of Hawaii, Honorable George R. Ariyoshi.
Already the Muse of Flight has now been incorporated into three different awards: ‘the Dennis Tito’, ‘EArt Space Ambassador’ and ‘EArt Space Exploration’. These awards are destined to become ‘iconic’ and will continue to be given for many years to come.
Examples of other types of Eileen’s ‘iconic art pieces’ include: B. B. Kings ‘Lucille’ in crystal, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, Disney’s ‘Steamboat Willie’, Warner Bros. ‘Looney Tunes’ characters, Erte’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Aerosmith’s crystal bowl. All can be viewed on E Art Gallery’s online gallery at www.EileenBorgeson.com.
Borgeson's sculptures have been commissioned and received by numerous individuals, companies and organizations. Including: Bob Hope, Elton John, the Dalai Lama, Hugh Hefner, Ronald Reagan, Atari, Toyota, General Motors, Fox TV, Universal, and Sony.
She has collaborated with many other artists or their estates including: Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Chuck Jones, Maxfield Parrish, and directly with the artist, Erté, considered the father of Art Deco, during the last seven years of his life. E Art Gallery’s online gallery of her work is at www.EileenBorgeson.com.
Jeff Allen is a holographic pioneer, and has produced numerous holographic movies and has collaborated with Borgeson for over 15 years to include holographic art editions. For more than 35 years, Allen has participated in many of holography’s major breakthroughs, including: diffractive optics, white-light view-ability, mass-replication and instant composite holography. The holograms on the VISA and MasterCard credit cards and National Geographic magazine covers are a direct outgrowth of some of these early efforts. Information on Allen can be viewed at www.holographics.com.
"The experience that you and I can have someday as private space travelers drives our own aspirations for serving the emerging space award and recognition industry.” Said Eileen and Allen in reference to their approach to creating Space Art awards and presentation piece and continued… “Traditional architecture and design concepts have no precedence in this new arena. Artistic and technological expression can be implemented without past prejudices and rules, opening new vistas of post-planetary art and sculpture.”
E Art Gallery is encouraging those in the space industry to think about recognition. So many individuals and organizations are deserving of recognition for all their contributions and accomplishments in this rapidly growing industry. Budget need not be a consideration. Eileen’s alliances can produce awards and recognition pieces with Eileen’s signature style at every price point, plus, E Art Gallery sponsored and has arranged for sponsorship of many of the previous Space Exploration and Space Travel awards. Eileen’s artistic experience and abilities and Allen’s holographic techniques combine to offer art and technology at its best to create the ‘Fine Art of Recognition’ within the Space Industry.
Star Trek helped inspire the dream of Space Travel and Exploration. Science Fiction is now rapidly becoming Science Fact. The dream has now become a vision in which we can all share, shape and become a part of. “Finally…the future is here!"
