Hettich makes FAQ slide in U.S. for the first time
More than 100 employees and their families celebrated the expansion of the Hettich North American manufacturing facility in Baldwin, Ga., during a plant tour and open house Saturday, May 19.
[USPRwire, Thu May 31 2007] More than 100 employees and their families celebrated the expansion of the Hettich North American manufacturing facility in Baldwin, Ga., during a plant tour and open house Saturday, May 19.
The event recognized Hettich’s first endeavor of producing the Full Access Quadro (FAQ) ball bearing slide in North America. These slides are distributed throughout the United States and Canada for use in a variety of applications, from cabinet drawers to appliances.
“This is truly a monumental occasion in Hettich’s history,” said Thomas Ginschel, President and CEO of Hettich America L.P. “Hettich moved its North American manufacturing to Baldwin 11 years ago, but the FAQ production just recently began here. This is the first time in the company’s history that the FAQ has been manufactured outside of Germany. This says a lot about our work force and manufacturing capabilities here in Baldwin.”
In addition to FAQ, other popular Hettich product lines manufactured at the Baldwin plant include Grant® door hardware, ball bearings and drawer slides and Optimat face frame hinges.
Offering full access to drawer contents, the FAQ ball bearing slide is one of the multiple options available within the Quadro line, which provides precision operation, lateral stability, optimal running properties, self-cleaning and concealed mounting.
This 60,000 square foot ISO 9001 Certified manufacturing plant houses a production area, a packaging and shipping bay and a tool maintenance facility. A combination of manual and automatic processes are used to produce Hettich products at the facility. Stringent quality control measures are employed during each phase of production to ensure Hettich products are manufactured to uphold strict product guidelines.
