[USPRwire, Tue Apr 20 2010] The World TeamTennis Pro League franchise Boston Lobsters, New England's professional tennis team, today announced the signing of top Marquee tennis pro John Isner to their 2010 team, a team already filled with leading players from the world of professional tennis. Isner, ranked No. 22 in the world and a U.S. Davis Cup member, is known for his booming serve attributed, at least in part, to his 6’ 9” height. He is regarded for his composure during matches, where he shows his ability to bring out huge serves when it matters most and back up his serves with approaches to the net.

Isner will play for the Lobsters on Tuesday, July 13, when Boston hosts the Springfield Lasers at 7 pm at Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, Mass. Tickets are available now through www.BostonLobsters.net or by calling 877-617-LOBS (5627).

Boston Lobsters CEO Bahar Uttam says, “This is indeed a major addition to the Lobsters. We are particularly pleased to present such a talented team to New England. We're going to be quite competitive this year with these top players.”

Isner's Marquee player signing is in addition to Boston's recently announced Marquee draft of top tennis pro James Blake who has a career ranking of No. 4 in the world. Blake has five singles titles and four doubles titles. The Boston Lobsters have also protected Jan-Michael Gambill in the WTT Roster Draft. Gambill is known for his unusual double-handed forehand and ranked as high as No. 14 in the world. He has defeated some of the world's greatest tennis players including Roger Federer, Carlos Moya, Lleyton Hewitt, Pete Sampras, and Andre Agassi.

Fan favorites Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis will be making visits to the Boston area. Hingis and the New York Buzz visit on Sunday, July 11, and Kournikova brings her St. Louis Aces to town on Monday, July 19. Visit www.BostonLosters.net for the full 2010 schedule.
