DirectRooms.com – Australia’s fastest young swimmers compete in Adelaide from 18 to 23 April 2011

DirectRooms.com reveals that the quickest swimmers from around Australia are due to take to the pool in Adelaide to determine who the country’s fastest person in the water is during April.

[USPRwire, Wed Mar 09 2011] For six days of competitive swimming between 18th and 23rd April, the 2011 Australia Age Championships looks to find the best in each age group with some of the most accomplished swimmers possibly going on to train with the national team.

The championships are for junior competitors aged 12 to 18 years of age and the race will be divided into boys and girls, with heats for each year of age. Races of all swimming strokes are going to be featured and these will include the freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, medley and relay heats. Distances will cover anything from 50m for the 12 and 13 year olds to 1500m for freestyle races.

To qualify for the event contestants must prove they’ve achieved or beaten the qualifying times for each stroke and distance as set by the organisers. The races will then run from 09:00 on every day, with the finals from each heat taking place at the end of the day at 18:00.

Many swim clubs are set to join the event which will increase the demand for Adelaide hotels near the South Australian Aquatic Centre where the races are staged.
