[USPRwire, Fri May 18 2007] Comperio Research – the market research arm of IMG – has been named as preferred research supplier to the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA). The CJGA initiated the new partnership by commissioning Comperio to conduct a sponsor awareness study.
The CJGA is a national association dedicated to providing high level competition and instruction to Canada’s junior golfers. The organisation boasts both HSBC and Lexus as partners/headline sponsors and is hoping to recruit either a technology or telecommunications sponsor in the imminent future. Therefore the objective of the initial research programme is two-fold, as the CJGA wishes to demonstrate the value of sponsorship investment to both current and potential sponsors.
The research will be conducted wholly online, and the survey respondents will comprise the parents of the junior golfers in the CJGA developmental programme. Comperio has designed the study to measure:
• Sponsor recognition and recall
• Perceptions of sponsors and their products
• Perceptions of the CJGA
• Consumer behaviour and habits centred around products and services in the technology and telecommunications sectors
Commenting on Comperio’s appointment, Earl Fritz, Vice President and founder of the CJGA said: “Comperio’s parent company IMG is actually our sales agent, which is why it was only logical that we consider Comperio when seeking research suppliers. However our decision was based on so much more than that. We recognise that Comperio offers the scope and high quality services we were looking for. And their reputation for providing cutting edge research
solutions to major sporting brands certainly appealed to us. The sponsor awareness study we have commissioned is in our opinion an essential piece of research, as we appreciate that in order to continuously attract the right sponsors, we need to be able to clearly illustrate the benefits we can deliver to those who choose to invest in sponsorship of the CJGA.”
Comperio is thrilled to add the CJGA to a growing list of North American clients that includes: Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Edmonton Eskimos, The Vancouver Canucks, Tennis Canada and The Calgary Flames and Hitmen.
