[USPRwire, Fri Nov 21 2008] With the announcement of the 2009 Athletes in Action Super Bowl Breakfast comes great excitement from the fans of those NFL players and coaches who are set to attend. The official Super Bowl XLIII sanctioned event is on the calendar for Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. when the USF Sun Dome is expected to host nearly 6,000 guests, sponsors and celebrities in attendance to hear from distinguished NFL athletes and coaches and to see the awarding of the prestigious Bart Starr Award.

The Athletes in Action Bart Starr Award is voted on by the NFL players and honors one player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. “It’s inspiring for young fans to see their athletic heroes being recognized not just for their physical skills, but for a combination of emotional, intellectual and moral qualities on and off the field,” said 2009 Super Bowl Breakfast Chairman Ed Kobel. “The Breakfast is a truly encouraging and uplifting event in the midst of all the Super Bowl excitement.”

The 2009 breakfast program features NFL athletes and coaches, including Tony Dungy, head coach for Super Bowl winning team Indianapolis Colts, NFL Hall of Famers Bart Starr and Anthony Munoz, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Derrick Brooks and former San Francisco 49er Brent Jones as emcee.
