[USPRwire, Thu Aug 23 2007] From the preservation of the natural areas in the community to the craftsmanship of the cabinetry in the homes, builder Springdale Homes has taken in every aspect of construction and design at The Preserve East Atlanta. Enhancing the beauty and value of the homes, the cabinetries found at The Preserve are designed and are hand built by Amish cabinetmakers in La Plata, MO.
“The cabinets in the kitchens and baths of the homes at The Preserve are designed to reflect the theme of Amish life -- simplicity, utility, grace and devotion,” said Kevin Moody, builder for Springdale Homes. “We chose to incorporate these cabinets into our homes because we wanted to give our clients better quality cabinetry and provide a higher return on their investment – understanding that the features in kitchen and bath areas are the most considered when purchasing a home.”
The cabinets are constructed in the home wood shops of Amish men living in Missouri. All work is done by hand, including using hand tools such as hand plans and chisels, and each piece is unique. Intricate joinery detailing, such as traditional dovetailing and mortise and tenon joints, can be seen throughout the drawers and cabinets thus enhancing the beauty and strength of the wood. Cabinets are constructed from mostly solid premium grade hard cherry and hickory with a variety of stain finishes to choose from.
“In many other new homes in our price range and location, pre-fabricated cabinets are the norm,” continued Moody. “Our cabinets are not only appealing they are handcrafted of premium wood and will last for the life of the home.”
