Imperato, Presidential Candidate, Independent Party, Disgraced by President Carter’s Panama Peanuts

After listening to Jimmy Carter’s comments on CNN’s Larry King Live Show, 2008 Independent Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato voiced his own opinions on the rants of ex-President Carter and how it shows the true nature of politicians.

[USPRwire, Thu Sep 14 2006] “I stand out today to call on the American people to reflect upon the politicians and the way they speak. As an American citizen, a non-politician, and an independent Presidential Candidate I am appalled at the fact that our ex-president Jimmy Carter has spoken out about our administration, its foreign policies, and said that our administration has done so many things the wrong way including evaluating the security of Americans in America based upon the war in Iraq.”

Imperato felt that Jimmy Carter was not in a position to criticize Bush because of his own foreign policy mistakes.

“People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. The biggest long term breech of security of the USA and its interests was the loss of the Panama Canal. The loss of the Panama Canal over the long term will prove to be one of the worst decisions made by any president equal to or worse than the Iraqi war.”

“The Panama Canal is now controlled by the Chinese. Central America and the Caribbean are being bought up and controlled by other regimes that are not pro-American and socialism is gaining momentum in Central America. Mark my words, the Panama Canal that President Jimmy Carter allowed to be let out of the hands of the USA is the worst decision that any president could have made. I believe that he ought to be ashamed of himself to speak out, critique, and judge our current administration and its policies when in fact his own policies with the Panama Canal was and is a disaster.”

After 25 years of being out of the Oval Office, Imperato felt that Jimmy Carter should keep to himself instead of trying to recapture the political spotlight to promote his new book.

“Ex-president Jimmy Carter should go back, retire, keep his comments to himself and stop judging people because the one that should be judged is him. I say that that the biggest separation between Central America, South America and he United States and the biggest downfall between our neighbors began from the decision made by President Carter.”

However, Imperato was not speaking out just to speak out against Jimmy Carter. He suggested that the words of Carter were more representative of politicians in general.

“I am making this statement to prove to the American people that politicians have twisted tongues and speak with two faces. They say and do things that are in the political vogue without critiquing themselves or their own actions. They need to start evaluating who they are in front of the mirror and what they stand for pertaining to the real protection of America, its people, its jobs, its immigrants, its social security and its health care.”

Imperato concluded his statement with the following remarks, “What politicians do is think about themselves and they try to speak to the people about what’s the scene. While we all know I have my differences with our administration and our president, as we all have our own ideas and opinions, I certainly wouldn’t throw stones with the Carter administration’s record, especially in light of the fact that he’s putting down Senator Lieberman with no cause, no meaning, and no rhyme whatsoever. Jimmy Carter has no business making derogatory comments about Joe Lieberman, and if I was Lieberman I would bring out the Panama Canal.”
