Participating Restaurants and Vendors Announced for A Toast to the Triangle™


A Toast to the Triangle announces the vendors and restaurants that will be at the event on March 7th


[USPRwire, Sat Feb 06 2010] Mary Freeman, president and CEO of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities (www.tammylynncenter.org), has announced participating restaurants, caterers, and beverage purveyors for the 2010 A Toast to the Triangle™ (www.atoasttothetriangle.org). The 25th annual event will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the North Carolina State University McKimmon Center in Raleigh.

Participating restaurants will engage in a friendly competition that displays some of their best dishes. Six “Best in Show” awards are given each year: People’s Choice Award, Best Visual Theme, Best First Course, Best Entrée, Best Dessert and Best Presentation. All participants are eligible for the People's Choice Award, in which guests vote for their favorite restaurant. The remaining awards are voted on by local judges with professions ranging from chefs to food critics to culinary instructors.

Adding to the 25th anniversary celebration is an exciting, fun and delicious pastry competition. An array of the Triangle's finest bakeries will display their Tammy Lynn Center /Toast-themed cake designs along with scrumptious samples for guests to enjoy. Participating bakeries include Cakes by Caren, Christin’s Cakes, Cinda’s Creative Cakes and Sugarland.

“The blend of longtime supporters and new participants is what makes the Toast a unique Triangle tradition,” says Freeman. “We are grateful for the support from these organizations.

About A Toast to the Triangle:
A Toast to the Triangle was first held on April 6, 1986 at Carolina Place. Approximately $6,000 was raised to build residential facilities at the Tammy Lynn Center. Since then, the event has been held annually to raise funds for the Tammy Lynn Memorial Foundation, Inc., which in turn supports the following programs and services of the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities: Community Residential, Early Childhood Intervention, Respite Care, and non-Medicaid Day Services.
