PERE MAGLOIRE CALVADOS WINS THREE AWARDS AT 2009 WORLD SPIRITS COMPETITION


[USPRwire, Sat May 09 2009] French company Père Magloire, a leader in the calvados market, has just been awarded three separate prizes at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition held on March 21 and 22, 2009. Its XO Calvados, the jewel of its range, received the Best In Show Brandy prize ahead of all brandies, cognacs and armagnacs on display, as well as a double gold medal. The company's VSOP Calvados got the silver medal.

Père Magloire’s eminent XO blend is produced through double distillation, which helps release the aroma. The calvados is then aged for at least ten years in oak casks, bringing a lovely amber color, subtle apple fragrance and the remarkable way it has of lingering on the palate.
The two World Spirits Competition medals will further boost XO Calvados’s already impressive track record:
- Gold Medal - Best In Class - The International Wine & Spirits Competition - London (2007)
- Gold Medal - SF World Spirits Competition (2007)
- Double Gold Medal - SF World Spirits Competition (2005)
- Gold Medal - Wine & Spirits Competition Moscow (2005)

Père Magloire’s VSOP Calvados, also produced through double distillation, is aged in oak casks for at least four years. It combines a delicious flavor with the freshness of the fruit.

- Gold Medal - Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) – Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries - Paris (2006)
