Ooh La La Dessert Boutique Announces New Bakery / Commissary

Ooh La La Dessert Boutique is expanding to a second spot in Katy. Owner Vanessa O’Donnell will use the location as a baking hub for both Katy stores as well as future venues in Houston. The bakery is scheduled to open in November 2009.

[USPRwire, Thu Oct 29 2009] Ooh La La Dessert Boutique, which was an instant hit when it opened here nearly two years ago, is expanding to a second sweet spot in Katy. Pastry chef and owner Vanessa O’Donnell will use the 3,200 square-foot location, at 20155 Park Row, as a baking hub for both Katy stores as well as future venues in Houston. The bakery is scheduled to open in November 2009.

“I am ecstatic,” says O’Donnell. “We plan to do all of our baking in the new location and deliver to each store, as well as to local restaurants and corporate clients.” According to O’Donnell, Ooh La La customers kept asking if she was planning to open a bakery in Houston. “This was a step we had to take in order to grow,” she says.

Ooh La La prides itself in made-from-scratch desserts prepared with premium ingredients. At the new location, those looking to satiate their sweet tooth will be able to choose from the full menu of Ooh La La’s popular signature jumbo cupcakes, extraordinary cheesecakes, cakes, pies, pastries, cookies and other delectable treats.

O’Donnell is a graduate of the Art Institute of Houston’s Baking and Pastry program. Prior to opening Ooh La La, she worked at Houston Country Club. She is currently working on plans to open other Ooh La La locations in Houston.
