“SLEEPER CELL” SOUNDTRACK GAINS MOMENTUM WITH DVD RELEASE, IPOD CONTEST GIVEAWAY CREATED BY RHYTHMBA

Rhythmbank Entertainment has created a contest to give away a new video iPod already loaded with the music from the “Sleeper Cell” soundtrack CD.

[USPRwire, Sat Mar 11 2006] Following on the heels of the “Sleeper Cell” soundtrack CD, Showtime will release a special edition DVD box set of their Golden Globe-nominated original series. To further the cross-promotion of these visual and audio elements, Rhythmbank Entertainment has created a contest to give away a new video iPod already loaded with the music from the “Sleeper Cell” soundtrack CD.

The album, co-produced by NONA HENDRYX and PAUL HASLINGER, contains music from the TV series and enhances the mood and atmosphere depicted in the show. Of the 12 tracks on the album, six were written by Emmy and Grammy nominated producer/musician/composer HASLINGER; HENDRYX performs on three, marking her first new music in 10 years. The former member of record- breaking rock/R&B trio Labelle has segued her critically acclaimed solo career with a successful stint as a music industry executive. Helming her own RHYTHMBANK ENTERTAINMENT production and record company with partner BOBBY BANKS, HENDRYX discovers and mentors new talent. She wrote 11 songs for off-Broadway play “Blue,” which starred Phylicia Rashad, and next up is the mid-April release of the film “Preaching To The Choir,” for which HENDRYX composed the score, co-wrote songs with M1 (Dead Prez) and Razhell (The Roots), and wrote an Afro-Gospel song “Run and Tell Jesus,” performed with The Broadway Inspirational Voices. HENDRYX also appears in the film in a cameo role. Starring as the choir director is HENDRYX’s Labelle bandmate Patti LaBelle, performing three Gospel songs. It was recently announced that a Labelle reunion is in the works.

Beginning March 14th, the first 100,000 people to purchase the “Sleeper Cell” DVD box set can log on to www.rhythmbank.com to sign up for a chance to win the iPod. In addition to the CD - which also includes music from Sufjan Stevens, Citizen Cope, Tricky, Faithless and others - the iPod will come loaded with podcasts featuring interviews with the actors from the Showtime original series, as well as NONA HENDRYX and PAUL HASLINGER discussing the creation and recording of the series’ soundtrack.

HENDRYX remains in the spotlight since the release of the soundtrack CD, having recently been spotted attending such gala events as the premiere of Jonathan Demme’s Neil Young movie “Heart of Gold,” and celebrating the unveiling of Russell Simmons’-designed “Arthur Ashe” Run Athletics sneaker at a shindig at the Phat Farm flagship store in Manhattan’s Soho. Still, it’s not all just partying and paparazzi; HENDRYX also sat down with Billboard.com for an interview, and upcoming features in Encore.com, Associated Press Broadcast, 60 Second CD Radio, and Artisan News Service. HASLINGER has been fielding the west coast media attention with an upcoming feature in Encore.com, and an interview on www.filmmusicradio.com slated for March 3.
