With the help of Veoh’s new exhibition venue, the creators of the series are hoping to reach more viewer-ship, and establish the brand on a larger scale. In addition, the Smidgits Team plans on releasing some content exclusively on Veoh, including high-end episodic network-type programming.
Frustrated with Hollywood and distribution companies, Kelly Schwarze, President of VDE turned to podcasting and the Internet to distribute his company’s work. SMIDGITS were originally created as a small comedy driven podcast series in the same vein as Saturday Night Live, and Mad TV. However, because of the brand’s growing appeal, Schwarze and his team plan on diversifying their content in 2007, to perform more like a television network.
