RED LOTUS HEADLINE BROOKLYN “INTERNATIONAL DESIGN SHOWCASE”
Four-piece hard rock band RED LOTUS has been named House Band for BK Style Foundation’s International Design Showcase in Brooklyn, NY taking place this Sunday, October 22.
[USPRwire, Sat Oct 21 2006] Last month, trendy Stereogum.com recounted the musical selections chosen by designers during New York Fashion Week. From Lily Allen to the Talking Heads, from Gorillaz and Scissor Sisters to Led Zeppeli, an eclectic mix of musical styles serenaded designs down the runway. RED LOTUS is ready to follow suit in its own inimitable way.
Performing songs from their debut CD De Pinche Nada, RED LOTUS will take the stage at 5PM at the old Williamsburg-based Domino Sugar Factory (renamed Brooklyn Sugar*). The band will enrapture the crowd prior to the runway events as well as between collection showings, helping to keep the momentum going and the crowd hungry for more.
The evening will feature work by designers from around the world including Jay Wilson(UK), Meiling (Trinidad and Tobago), Gavin Douglas(UK), Kamit Revisited(Jamaica), Nana Boateng(Ghana) and H.O.R.R.S.(Tonga). “It’s a natural fit for us to play at the International Design Showcase because it is a truly diverse show,” says RED LOTUS singer/songwriter Rozz Nash. “These international designers challenge what it means to be ‘in style.’ It’s the same thing we do through our music - we challenge the definition of ‘rock’ every time we take the stage.”
RED LOTUS recently rocked New York’s famed Joe’s Pub with a rousing live set captured on video for their forthcoming EPK. The band is in the semi-finals of the Bodog Battle Of The Bands, vying for a million dollar recording contract with this new record label.
