Dozens of artists, musicians and other performers bring smart culture to Macworld Expo
Culture Catch Artist Salon three-day party features live music, art displays and more
[USPRwire, Fri Jan 05 2007] The podcasters from CultureCatch.com are bringing some smart-culture flavor to the week-long happening at Macworld Expo 2007. Partnering with intermedia performance company DOUBLE VISION, Culture Catch is bringing dozens of artists, musicians and performers to its Culture Catch Artist Salon. Sponsors include Absolut, Crumpler Bags, Gibson, JBL, Podango, Ultimate Ears, Ursaminor, Coturri Winery, Thirsty Bear Brewery, Threadless and SFStation.
On Jan. 12, the Culture Catch podcasters will be hosting Macworld Expo’s track of sessions on podcasting. In the three days leading up to that, Jan. 9-11, Culture Catch and DOUBLE VISION will transform San Francisco’s Red Ink Gallery into a 5,000-square-foot multimedia cultural experience, complete with five computer-video projections, interactive sound and light installations, an amazing gallery installation from InflatableArts.com, choreographed drink servers, and performances from some of the smartest artists, dancers, musicians, and performers on the West Coast.
DOUBLE VISION unifies multifaceted art forms, technologies and ideas to cultivate innovative performances and provoke communication by experimenting with different methods of collaboration. In addition, each evening will feature audio and video podcast interviews by Dusty Wright of CultureCatch.com, performances from some of the smartest artists, dancers, musicians, and performers on the West Coast, and other culturally hip happenings.
DOUBLE VISION dancers will serve complimentary cocktails each night, and Emily of the Sex with Emily podcast will let guest repent in the Absolut Confessional booth. Attendees can also be part of Sam’s Cool Mac Picks video podcast in high definition. Each day, Sam will feature cool gadgets from the Macworld Expo show floor and talk to folks about what they think was hip and cool at the expo. Each night of the salon will also be full of cool giveaways, too, from Crumpler Bags, Final Draft, Gibson Guitars, harman/kardon, JBL, Ultimate Ears and more.
