Classic Texas Artist Dale McBride Goes Digital with GMV Nashville
[USPRwire, Fri May 02 2008] A selection of the late Dale McBride's classic recordings are now available online through digital record label GMV Nashville.
McBride, who had significant success in the 70s and 80s both nationally and in his home state of Texas, was signed to Nashville's Con Brio Records from 1976 to 1979. The recent releases of The Dale McBride Collection and Takin' a Long Look draw on recordings from the Con Brio collection and mark the first time that these classic recordings have been available to fans digitally.
"Digital technology is a powerful tool for new artists and classic artists alike," said GMV spokesperson Matt Watkins. "We are proud to offer Dale McBride fans an opportunity to rediscover these influential recordings and share them with a new generation of music enthusiasts."
Dale McBride hailed from Lampasas, Texas. He was a fixture on the Texas music scene in the 70s. McBride's Con Brio single "Ordinary Man" bulleted onto the national chart and was quickly followed by such memorable songs as "Savin' Up Sunshine" and "Always Lovin' Her Man." McBride passed away in 1992, but left a vibrant musical legacy spanning country, gospel and rockabilly. McBride's son, Terry McBride, fronted the country group McBride and the Ride and remains active on the music scene.
GMV Nashville, a division of Internet marketing company AristoWorks, is a digital record label that focuses on making quality music available through online outlets including: iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, Music Net, e-Music and others.
