About Black Family Day
Black Family Day has been bringing all people together, since 1996, in unity, peace, and love to inspire and strengthen family ties and recognize the tremendous contributions of Black Families to this nation. The rural city government of Reidsville misunderstood organizers motives and did not accept the program at its inception. Founder, Amon Muhammad, and supporters rallied against the opposition and eventually filed suit in federal court for civil rights violations. The city ultimately yielded in 2000.

Included are day of workshops, gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, spoken word artists, spiritual & civic leaders. Vendors from all over the region bring arts, crafts, and products of interest to the Black community. Ethnic and traditional menus are on hand in the food village. The Family Fun Village will feature games, bounces, face painting, and more.

This celebration is free. However, donations are accepted via www.blackfamilyday.org
