Virginia College Online Personnel Changes Improve Learning Experience

Virginia College Online has added to its staff and promoted from within in order to maintain and improve upon the college's stellar reputation.

[USPRwire, Tue Nov 27 2007] Birmingham, AL November 26, 2007 -- Virginia College Online has announced key personnel additions and promotions geared toward improving the educational experience for their online students. VC Online has added to its staff and promoted from within in order to maintain and improve upon the college's stellar reputation.

The tremendous growth of Virginia College Online's academic programs reflects the diversity and challenge of its classes, which are offered via the Internet and enrolls students from around the world. In the beginning of 2007, the online school announced the landmark of having enrolled over two thousand students.

VC Online President Stan Banks observed, “We are excited about our growth and want to make certain the educational experience for all our students is as positive as it can be.” To that end, the college has added staff and promoted individuals in several departments to better serve students and enrich the learning experience.

New Faculty and Staff Bring Valuable Experience to VC Online

Chris Ransom, formerly the Director of Planning and Analysis for Education Corporation of America, has been named Campus Controller. Also joining VC Online's financial division is Tim Saylor as the new Director of Financial Planning Operations. He brings expertise from over fifteen years serving at institutions such as ITT Technical Institute and Sallie Mae Servicing Corporation.

The new Dean of Faculty for VC Online is Dr. Bob Jordan, with over thirty years experience in teaching in both traditional and distance education settings. Additional experience as an education and research consultant and as Dean of Academics at Florida Metropolitan University make Dr. Jordan uniquely suited to improving the experience of each online student. He will be working closely with and supervising the educational staff of VC Online.

Also joining the VC Online team is Shana Garrett as the new Dean of Students. She previously served as Director of Student Services for Westwood College in Fort Worth, Texas and Program Director for Faculty of the Institute of Health Care at Westwood College. Finally, VC Online welcomes Hugh Jensen as its Director of Admissions, reporting to Darrel Hanbury, Vice President of Admissions. Mr. Jensen brings his considerable expertise to the position from American Inter-Continental University in Portland where he was Director of Admissions for four years.

Each addition to the Virginia College Online staff will bring valuable experience and personal assistance to the interactive online learning experience. The college anticipates raising the bar even higher for individual students and the learning experience as a whole, making it both more challenging and more accessible for traditional and non-traditional students alike.
