The Problem Student Problem-Solver Conference for Teachers Scheduled

Hundreds of solutions will be provided to educators who work with truant, apathetic, angry, violent, and failing students. The Problem Student Conference will offer specific solutions for chronic student behavior problems and serious classroom management issues.

[USPRwire, Wed Jan 24 2007] The Problem Student Problem-Solver Workshop for teachers, counselors, special ed teachers, principals, social workers and juvenile court workers has been scheduled for spring 2007 in many cities around the United States.

Workshop participants are asked to come prepared to identify which exact “kid problems” pose the worst classroom and group room management concerns. Instructor Ruth Herman Wells, M.S. says she expects to have requests to cover bullying, poor motivation, bad attitudes, work refusal, school violence, truancy, and all manner of classroom management problems. “Motivation and classroom management problems tend to be at the top of the list,” Wells says. She adds, “But we flood participants with hundreds of interventions so they leave a whole lot happier than when they came in.” She adds, “Teachers are starving for practical, real-world methods to manage contemporary students, and that’s what we strive to deliver.”

Wells is the author of many popular books on solving classroom management problems, and is a veteran trainer. Her most popular books include Temper and Tantrum Tamers, All the Best Answers for Conduct Disorders and Anti-Social Youth, and The Quickest Kid Fixer-Uppers. Wells has trained conferences, school districts and agencies from the Arctic Circle to Southern Florida. Wells has trained thousands of teachers, special educators, juvenile court staff, foster parents and psychologists. Her work has been featured in many publications, most recently, The Orlando Sentinel. Youth workers can view hundreds of more effective strategies at Wells’ web site, http://www.youthchg.com.
