Education Corporation of America (ECA), the parent company of Virginia College Online, owns and operates both the online college and Virginia College's traditional campuses in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.

Stan Banks' background in educational development includes positions as the Director of Admissions for United Electronics Institute and President of Edmondson Junior College in Tennessee. In 1992, Banks assumed the role of President of Florida Metropolitan University, Brandon Campus. In 2003, he became the President of Florida Metropolitan Online, where he increased enrollment by more than 3,000 students in two years.
As Chief Operating Officer of Virginia College Online, Banks will focus on the development, operations and continuing improvement of the Internet school's various degree programs.
