Even though inbound tourism is set to grow, due to improving economic conditions in main source markets, growth remains limited if Romania fails to attract tourists from more affluent countries within Europe, which will also affect the growth potential for tourism receipts. Romania's tourism industry is furthered threatened by a negative reputation regarding crimes against foreigners, human and drug trafficking, putting off potential visitors who are largely unaware of Romania's natural beauty and vast array of sights. Clearly, efforts must be made to promote the country's positive aspects in order to eliminate misconceptions.
