Rare Complete set of Royal Copenhagen, Porcelain, Figurines to be Auctioned on eBay in a Seven Day A
A rare, complete set of ten "Children of Denmark" porcelain figurines by Royal Copenhagen (http://www.Royal-Copenhagen.biz) will be offered at auction beginning March 1st, 2006 in a seven day listing on eBay.
[USPRwire, Tue Feb 07 2006] A rare, complete set of ten "Children of Denmark" porcelain figurines by Royal Copenhagen (http://www.Royal-Copenhagen.biz) will be offered at auction beginning March 1st, 2006. The series was designed by Carl Martin-Hansen and was originally given as a present from the women of Denmark to King Christian the X and to Queen Alexandrine on their silver wedding anniversary in 1923. Although individual figurines from this series are occasionally offered for sale on the secondary market, it is quite rare to find a single lot being offered with all 10 pieces in the series. It is even more rare to find them in such beautiful condition.
This complete set was purchased new in 1972 and includes the original boxes from Royal Copenhagen for each figurine. The makers marks on the bottom of each figurine indicate that they were manufactured between 1969 and 1972. The series features children of the territories of Denmark under which King Christian the X ruled. These territories included Denmark, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, Slesvig and Iceland which was in union with Denmark. The costumes are true renditions of Danish regional costumes which were worn in each Danish province at the time that this series of figurines were created in 1923.

The detail of the costumes, the faces of the children and the hand sculpted porcelain flowers held by each child is breathtaking. These are being offered at auction on eBay as a single lot of ten figurines, for seven days, starting March 1st, 2006. They are not being offered for sale individually.
