Minister Farrakhan to deliver historic Saviours’ Day message in Detroit, the birthplace of the Natio
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will deliver the keynote address, “One Nation Under God: The Confusion, The Guidance, The Warning,” at the Saviours’ Day ’07 Convention, the Crowning Event of Black History Month.
[USPRwire, Fri Feb 09 2007] Men, women and children of all religious faiths are invited to join the Nation of Islam in celebration of the historic Saviours’ Day ’07Convention, to take place in the city of Detroit, February 22 through February 25.
The Saviours’ Day ’07 Convention will be held at the Ford Field and Cobo Hall, and will include conferences, workshops, seminars, powerful community fellowship and commemorative services. In addition, nationally recognized civil rights leaders, ministers and community advocates are scheduled to attend.

The Historic Homecoming
Opened in August 2002, Detroit’s Ford Field sits on land formerly known as “Paradise Valley” by African Americans during the 1930s. During that time, Paradise Valley, the poorest section of the city, was also widely regarded as the “Black Bottom.” It was here that Master W. Fard Muhammad, the Founder of the Nation of Islam, first appeared to establish the Nation of Islam in North America in 1934.
Today, Ford Field, the home of the Detroit Lions, has a seating capacity of over 65,000 and will be the site of the mass Friday Jumu’ah (congregational) prayer and the Sunday keynote address, “One Nation Under God: The Confusion, The Guidance, The Warning,” to be delivered by Minister Farrakhan.
“I look at this [Saviours’ Day ’07 Convention] as a homecoming,” Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick said in support of the convention. “We [the City of Detroit] are happy to do business both economically and spiritually with the Nation of Islam and look forward to the Nation of Islam coming home.”
