Importers and distributors are expanding their range by introducing new brands in Indonesia. Besides US brands, importers are selling German and Italian brands. The number of Thailand-manufactured products has also increased during the review period; for example Dr Luv Care, a mid-priced brand, and Bingo, which is positioned in the economy segment. Most brands from Thailand are positioned in the mid-priced or economy segments.

It is expected that value growth rate will increase at a slower pace compared to the review period, due to the rising use of prepared food in the next five years. Significant price increases will result in owners alternating between prepared and non-prepared dog food. The habit of mixing prepared dog food with rice will also lower the cost of keeping a dog.
