Some of the reasons Pacific Poker has opened their doors for Macintosh online poker players wanting to play in the World Series of Poker is that they realize that the online poker market may be shifting toward players wanting to play in bigger tournaments such as the WSOP.
Along with the World Series of Poker satellites Pacific Poker has added their $50k guaranteed multi-table tournaments for Macintosh users. The max amount of players that can play in these tournaments is 2000 with a $65 5 buy in per tournament. Previous winners of the World Series of Poker have won their entries to the final event through online qualifiers. Pacific Poker does expect to earn a profit from the WSOP satellites but the exposure they would receive by having a Macintosh Pacific Poker player winning the final event would be priceless in terms of brand recognition.
