Jeffrey Zlotky to Lead Historic Dallas-based Law Firm
[USPRwire, Tue Aug 04 2009] The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Jeffrey A. Zlotky has been named Managing Partner of the Firm. In addition to his new duties, Mr. Zlotky will continue to serve clients and maintain his individual practice in the area of corporate law.
Mr. Zlotky began his professional career at Thompson & Knight in 1985, immediately after graduating from the University of Texas School of Law. He previously served as a member of the Firm’s management committee and currently serves as a board member for the Thompson & Knight Foundation.
Mr. Zlotky succeeds Peter J. Riley, who has led the 420-attorney firm since 2001. During Mr. Riley’s tenure, the Firm has expanded with multiple offices and affiliated practices in the United States, Central and South America, Africa, and Europe. Mr. Riley and the Firm have also earned consistent recognition for efforts and achievements in enhancing diversity in the legal profession.

Mr. Zlotky's practice has included the representation of private equity funds and institutional investors, particularly in the energy industry, in a wide range of mergers, acquisitions, and other multi-billion-dollar financial matters. He has extensive experience in the structuring, organization, and capitalization of private equity funds.
In addition to graduating with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1985, Mr. Zlotky served as Associate Editor of the school’s Texas Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, at Princeton University in 1982.
Mr. Zlotky has earned numerous honors in his career, including being named in The Best Lawyers in America since 2001; Texas Super Lawyers since 2003; and one of America’s 500 Leading Lawyers by Lawdragon. In addition, D Magazine named Mr. Zlotky to its biannual list of Dallas’ “Best Lawyers” in 2005, 2007, and 2009.
