Leading Law Firm Adds Veteran Attorney in Houston Office
[USPRwire, Fri May 02 2008] The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Roger D. Aksamit has joined the Firm as a Partner in the Tax Practice Group of the Firm’s Houston office. He brings more than 25 years of legal experience to Thompson & Knight.

Aksamit, formerly Co-Head of Bracewell & Guiliani’s Tax Section, focuses his practice on counseling energy industry and other business clients in mergers and acquisitions, financing and joint venture transactions, and working with public and closely held companies, diverse business entities, and partnerships in all aspects of transactional tax matters and planning. He is Board Certified in both Tax Law and in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Aksamit has been listed in both Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America for the past two years, and recognized on the Texas Super Lawyer list for the past five years.
He received an LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1987, a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 1978, and a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1975. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Taxation Section, Texas Bar’s Tax and Real Property and Probate Sections, Houston Bar Association’s Tax Section, El Paso Bar Association, and American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is also a Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation.
