[USPRwire, Fri Jun 01 2007] Thompson & Knight is pleased to congratulate Partner Jeffrey S. Boyd on his election as Chair of the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Central Texas (GICT). Boyd has served on the GICT Board of Directors since 2001.
The mission of GICT is to enhance the quality and dignity of life for individuals, families, and the community by providing job-related services for people with barriers to employment. With an annual budget exceeding $40 million, GICT provides more than 16,000 services to over 9,000 individuals every year. GICT’s region consists of 15 counties in and surrounding the Austin area. It is the 4th largest nonprofit organization in Austin and the 13th largest Goodwill in revenue out of 177 Goodwill’s nationwide.
Boyd is a Partner in the Trial Practice Group and Co-Leader of the Government Litigation Practice Group in Thompson & Knight’s Austin office. Having served as Deputy Attorney General in charge of Civil Litigation for the State of Texas from 2000-2003, he now advises and represents clients in responding to government investigations, defending against government enforcement actions, and advocating their interests in a variety of administrative and quasi-administrative proceedings. In addition to his government litigation and government affairs practices, Boyd handles a wide variety of civil commercial disputes and advises clients on litigation and pre-litigation matters.
