Polymer Exchange 2010: June 1-4 in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio (A056)
POLYMER EXCHANGE 2010: FRENCH-AMERICAN EVENT ON ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES IN POLYMERS AND SUSTAINABILITY In Chicago and Colombus, Ohio from June 1-4, 2010
[USPRwire, Sun May 30 2010] The plastic industry is at the heart of tomorrow’s challenges whether it is in the automotive industry or in sustainable development. In an effort to spur the industry, the French government has long been investing in the development of polymer research centers specialized in biopolymers, nanopolymers in medical applications and more. At Polymer Exchange 2010, an official delegation of nine French top-notch organizations will be visiting Chicago, and Columbus, Ohio, where they will help sponsor the Ohio Polymer Summit on June 2 and 3.
France is now number two in Europe with $40 billion in revenue generated by the polymer industry. With interwoven centers working hand in hand on multifaceted applications, France has created efficient synergies and works at developing new technologies and exporting them worldwide.
During the NPE show in 2009, this year's Polymer Exchange participants started new partnerships with American organizations such as PolymerOhio, USDA and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following the success of this event, they are back this year with a larger French delegation of scientists, technological firms and universities subsidized by the government. At the eighth biennial Ohio Polymer Summit in Columbus on June 2 to 3, which will host prestigious speakers such as the vice-president of Owens-Corning or top executives of Polyone, they will give a conference on nanotechnology and meet with the governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland.
Polymer Exchange 2010 is a unique platform to meet European innovating companies and the leaders of European professional polymer organizations. The French-American ties in the field of polymers keep growing. PolymerOhio will be speaking at ClusterPlast, the annual European summit on plastics and nanotechnology this coming June in France.
