There are also polishes you can buy, but do not polish the grill. Stainless steel polishes can discolor under intense heat and make your grill look worse.”

Bob explained how this could happen, “Harsh cleaners containing ammonia, bleach and disinfectants can remove the protective oxide layer, allowing moisture or other corrosives to begin the deterioration process. Scratches or dents that cut below the surface of an appliance may rust if left exposed.”
