Christian Book Fair Int'l moves to Dubuque Iowa

The annual Christian Book Fair International moves from Iowa City to Dubuque Iowa, attracting authors and book lovers to the beautiful hilly city where the states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois meet.

[USPRwire, Thu Jul 27 2006] Dubuque Mayor Roy Buol will at 11am August 4 welcome Christian authors, publishers, others from across the US and overseas to the August 4-6 2006 Christian Book Fair International taking place at John F. Kennedy Mall Dubuque Iowa.

The three-day event held in the last two years in Iowa City coincides with the 2006 Iowa tax free weekend when thousands of shoppers come from across Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois to shop at the mall.

Paschal Eze, event founder and president of the Coralville Iowa-based Family Reading Ministries, Inc., explains the decision to move the fair to Dubuque as informed by the city's proximity to book lovers and book industry professionals in the three states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois, as well as the professionalism of the staff at Dubuque Visitors Bureau, John F. Kennedy Mall and Julien Inn.

"It is all about connecting book lovers with Christian authors and publishers of secular and spiritual books, and others associated with the book indsutry," he adds.

Highlights include book signing by authors, opportunity for visitors to explore getting their manuscripts published, and free seminars, notably the 4.30pm August 5 seminar on "If God Speaks in Symbols, Why Can't I Decode Them?" by Illinois author Helena Lehman, and the 11am August 5 seminar on "The message of Jesus in this moment in time" by Greta C. Jonker and Jubi Onyeama of A Course in Miracles International Wisconsin.

Exhibitors include Rhianna, author of the children's book "The Forrest Tales", Elreta Dodds, author of "Is God A Chauvinist?", Dr. Leon Hesser, former director at US State Department and author of Iowa-born Nobel laureate Norman Borlaug's biography, "The Man Who Fed The World", Bankole Thompson, author of "Ignoring The Underprivileged: A Journalist's Indictment of Mainstream Media," and the Trade Commission of Spain which will be promoting Spanish books.

At the 2005 Christian Book Fair held at Johnson County Fairgrounds Iowa City, 48 exhibitors came from US, Canada, United Kingdom, India and Croatia.
