Another of the company's innovations that saves energy and improves fuel economy is the exhaust heat recovery system (EHRS). This solution uses the thermal energy of the exhaust system to speed up heating of the engine to improve fuel economy in cold climates. It can also heat the vehicle’s cabin more efficiently.
Faurecia can also optimize the packaging and system integration of the after-treatment systems while enabling easy dismantling. Faurecia’s expertise in after-treatment technology is based on more than 30 years of experience. Faurecia Exhaust Systems has a complete technical center for the design, development, testing, and prototyping of complete exhaust systems in Toledo, Ohio, as well as additional technical centers and production facilities around the globe.
