Why Florida voters need a New Voice as Governor – 32-year Florida resident Daniel Imperato

[USPRwire, Thu Jun 24 2010] West Palm Beach resident Daniel Imperato has accepted the draft effort that places him on the ballot in the November election as a true independent for Florida’s next governor. An official announcement will take place on Independence Day July 4th.

In the meantime, Daniel is carefully reviewing the Florida executive branch, administrative duties, the state budget, and selecting members of his campaign team. He is reaching out to the press to help articulate his vision for a prosperous Florida in the next four years. He declares his public statements over the last five years, “including dozens of speeches and media appearances during the presidential campaign – as facts that have proven true and display my grasp of what really needs done in state government.

“No other candidates exhibit knowledge of the fabric of global business. I was seriously disappointed that people with my credentials never run for office. I learned the ropes of running major organizations from being in the trenches. I learned the street smart version of global business. The state attracted me after a tough upbringing in Boston, and one last blizzard of 1978 finally drove me south.”

Building a number of businesses in Florida allowed Imperato to get a firsthand view of the economies – both successful and unsuccessful ventures, the leadership and growth patterns of the state, brings a very sound understanding of the state.

Positive involvement with major real estate deals is just one example of the community involvement. Imperato assisted the Pugliese company expand its resources worldwide which attracted the late Mel Simon of Simon Malls to join as a partner for the proposed regional shopping center in Boca Raton. Plus Daniel was instrumental in arranging funding from Sumitomo Bank

A licensed real estate sales person maintained the growth of condo industry even when interest rates were hitting 21 percent. Imperato was also involved with Tom White and St. Lucie West and its development.

Imperato now in West Palm Beach has watched the city grow. He was instrumental in negotiating with the Scope Bank in Finland, helping Burt Moorings and David Pallidine try to secure property for development before city mayor Mrs. Graham took her own route. Meanwhile Imperato brought Lazard Fares in for Florida bond offering.

Involvement in these and many other projects in the state, Imperato observes that, “Tallahassee is run like the old days. There is a collective attitude that we are primarily a retirement state. Well we are much more than that and we must correct that attitude that slows down our progress. Our state is suffering from casual leadership in Tallahassee. There is a time and a place for the being laid back. It is called retirement. But that does not serve us well when called upon to display a tireless work ethic. Competition is too fierce in today’s economy. We need new ways combined with fast action. That’s why I am running a full-fledged campaign.

“I admit that even I have had some setbacks in my business career especially when committing to running for president between 2005 – 08. It was a risk worth taking because I believe in our country and giving back. It is still disappointing to see my old company get purchased then the new owners go to jail. But I have many friends and contacts in the state. Most important I understand Florida and what responsibilities the people should expect from their next governor.”

Unlike the 2008 campaign that he self-financed, Imperato does not have the means to self-fund this campaign. Therefore he will be relying on the people to rally, to provide a louder voice, to scrutinize, help develop and articulate the facts and programs needed to keep the state of Florida out of debt. Imperato is a fighter and man of principle and when he commits to a full fledged campaign on July 4, expect to see the former sportsman, and street-smart organizer go to work applying his incredible experiences and knowledge of the world. All to be put forth and in use for what he calls his Florida family.

“This state has been very good to me. So I present my 30 plus track record as an effort to give back to fellow Floridians. I am ready and willing to provide a new voice for independent minded voters. Be First Florida! Make history by electing Governor Crist to the Senate, and replacing him with Daniel Imperato in Tallahassee.”

Imperato plans on attending a campaign gathering for Governor Crist in Ft. Pierce on June 25. He is asking for the Governor’s blessing in advance of the July 4th campaign kickoff.
